Sarah Palin's decision to resign as Governor of Alaska was seen as shocking, strange, wierd, unfounded in reason or logic. Actually, it was, as she said, "for the good of the state of Alaska."

- It's team chemistry, not talent that wins in playoffs. Look at the Cavs last season. They did an el foldo to Boston. LeBron couldn't save them then, he ain't going to save the Heat either. Call it, Miami Bust. I see zero titles for them.

- My regard for LeBron has gone down dramatically. Is this American Idol, or So Do You Wanna Dance? It figures that this would happen, in this media reality show world we live in--Hey, they're doing a show about me watching LeBron make his announcement. I will be on ESPN3.

- Yes, soccer needs to grow as a sport in America. It is happening, it just will take time. The structure is in place, US need to develop good players with talent.
Will Blackhawks repeat as Stanley Cup champions?

- The Blackhawks broke through this season and played great in the playoffs. The big question is who will be coming back to the team. If they can replace the players not returning, the Hawks are in good shape to make a serious run for the Cup.

- I'm a Chicago fan, so I'm going with the Hawks. It should be a tough series, Philadelphia will be loose, and the pressure will be on the young Blackhawks. I Think the Flyers will bring out the best in the Blackhawks, to show that they are a great team. Hawks in 6.

- The Flyers made history the hard way. They earned it. 4 wins in a row is nearly impossible to do, but they did it. Congrats to them.

- Ovechkin is the NHL's MVP. He makes the Caps go...He is a wrecking machine out there. YOu have to defend him with extra guys, leaving one or two Caps free and usually they score...so he is a great decoy and scorer.

- As a player, he was great. And, looking at his numbers, he should get in on those. Two time league MVP, and Super Bowl MVP make him a lock to get in.

- Capt. Sully Sullenbeger of the downed plan in the Hudson River deserves being named man of the year. His calm, precision, and focus on the immediate task at hand, under great pressure, saved many lives. After the accident, he made sure every passenger was rescued.

- It's time to take off the jersey, of whatever team you are playing. He has been with so many team lately, I can't even list them. I'll remember him as a '76 er. He seems tired mentally, and that affects your play. No team really wants him.
